It's always refreshing to start a new year. Who knows what gifts and challenges 2019 will bring?
Do you make new year resolutions? Are you planning to lose weight? Eat better? Improve fitness? Quit smoking? If you are in the habit of setting overly ambitious new year resolutions and then promptly breaking them, perhaps it is time to re-evaluate how you set your goals. Here are some tips to help you set goals you can stick to!
If weight management is your goal, avoid fad diets. It is often all too alluring when you hear that X diet will help you to lose weight, feel great and look amazing in a very short time, all with the use of **cutting food groups/shakes/pills/patches/tea/mystical berries from the depths of the Amazon**
Be honest with yourself, and set achievable goals. Quitting all chocolate forever is much less likely to be successful than limiting chocolate to 4 squares per week as a treat.
Be kind to yourself. People judge themselves much more harshly than they would a friend or family member. By changing the language that you use for your resolutions, you may find you are more likely to see them through.
